Andrew Siegel is currently a Senior Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory with appointments in both the Mathematics/Computer Science and Nuclear Engineering divisions.
For the past decade Dr. Siegel has led Argonne’s program in advanced reactor modeling and simulation, where his own research has focused on developing improved methods to model the physics of advanced reactors, including mixing, neutron/fluid coupling, and innovative computational approaches to stochastic methods for neutron transport. This work has led to over 100 peer reviewed articles in his field.
He also serves as Director of the Center for Exascale Simulation of Advanced Reactors (CESAR), one of three DOE-ASCR co-design centers tasked with helping to drive developments in next generation HPC architectures. Dr. Siegel has taught over fifty courses in the MPCS dating back to 2000, including MPCS 51087 High Performance Computing, MPCS 58001 Numerical Methods, MPCS 51100 Advanced Programming, and MPCS 51040 Stochastic Processes and Time Series Analysis. He currently serves as Resident Master at Burton-Judson Residence Hall.
