Advisor: Bill Fefferman
I am an incoming CS PhD student at UChicago, where I will be researching quantum computation and quantum complexity theory under Professor Bill Fefferman. I did my Bachelor’s at Caltech, where I majored in computer science and physics.
I have a research experience in quantum computation, quantum algorithms, and quantum information theory, which I have explored through my work under Professor Nat Tantivasadakarn (now at Stony Brook University) and Professor Yu Tong. I also did a senior thesis on Lindbladian learning, during which I was co-advised by both Professor John Preskill and Professor Yu Tong.
Outside of research, I have thoroughly explored teaching, which I have done both by serving as a teaching assistant for various introductory CS courses as well as by developing a wide array of high-quality lectures on popular topics based on my university curriculum.
I am a CS PhD student eager to pursue theoretical research in quantum computation and quantum complexity theory, with an interest in topics at the intersection of theoretical computer science and physics. My primary goal is to develop rigorous theoretical foundations for near-term quantum advantage, understanding which experimentally feasible quantum computations are genuinely beyond the capabilities of classical computers, how noise and other experimental imperfections affect these advantages, and how such computations can be efficiently verified.
