Chad Broughton (UChicago)- Academic Freedom in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
This is the inaugural discussion dinner for the Chicago Forums’ Free Expression and Emerging Technologies committee. During this time, we hope to give UChicago students the opportunity to discuss the role of the University in regulating artificial intelligence and protecting free expression. Should universities limit or guide AI usage in the classroom and in research? Does AI threaten or enhance the marketplace of ideas? How can academic freedom coexist with the risks of misinformation, bias, and surveillance in AI technologies?
