Advisor: Pedro Lopes
I am a PhD candidate and an Eckhardt Scholar working at Human Computer Integration Lab advised by Pedro Lopes. Previously, I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Computer Science from National Taiwan University in Taiwan.
My research vision is, beyond visual and auditory channels that dominant our information access, haptic interfaces (which offer the sense of touch, textures, forces, etc.) can become extremely mobile and available anytime. To advance haptics into this new territory, I engineer custom-made interactive devices that, for instance: allow us to feel touch in Augmented/Mixed Reality (AR/MR/XR) without encumbering our fingerpads, or offer rich force feedback with virtually infinite battery life. My works have been published at top Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) conferences including ACM CHI & UIST, and demonstrated at SIGGRAPH and IEEE World Haptics.
