I’m a PhD student working at the CANON Lab. Previously, I graduated with a dual degree in Computer Science and Psychology from the University of Arizona. Before college, I spent my life in a beautiful small city in the mountainous northwestern region of Vietnam.

My research spans culturally relevant and responsive computing education in K-8. I’m fascinated by how kids feel in CS classrooms, especially those who are not well served by mainstream instruction. I use design-based research and qualitative analysis to address challenges faced by students and teachers, and develop static scaffolds and AI-powered tools to help make CS learning materials more meaningful for kids while ensuring their learning outcomes and optimizing the workload for teachers.
